"Is the internet destroying humans or are the humans destroying the internet?"
An idle mind is a devil's workshop, and the mind of a teenager, especially in this day and age, is 75% made up of the content we consume. Whether it'd be a new trend, a viral song or a classic dialogue, it's a teenager's entire vocabulary. Despite being occupied, the mind remains empty.
It goes without saying, that the internet is a very useful tool. But is it being used in that way, is the real question. Unfathomable information brought to you in seconds; that is the kind of power the internet holds. However, the various forms of social media, the kind of content we come across, and the excessive amount of time spent on there is reducing the internet's level to a teenager's enemy. Losing their connect with the real world, we have forgotten what it was like to live a life outside and not always see it through a camera lens. Straying away from the more important things around us, the real is something to escape from and the virtual is our gateway.
Nothing is good, when in excess. All the fun of the internet is only harmless, till it's done in a limit. An established balance between what's real and what's ideal is an absolute necessity, in order to maintain a healthy relationship with the internet without letting it take over your life.
